I've started an LJ Community: milpagans for Pagan members of the military, their families, veterans and any other interested parties. Pagans of all peaceful paths and traditions, Pagan-Friendly, Pagan-Curious, and others are welcome.

I have no idea what I am doing with an LJ Community, so I expect a rocky start.  Still, stop by, join the community, make a post, and provide me with some external validation.  Thanks!

I wish you well. I have some less than pleasent storys about happened to Marines that tried to practice ritual during deployments and exercises. It freaked everyone out, from fellow Lance Corporals to Generals. They were basically told to cool it until they got home. The immaturity of the teen wicca Marines didn't help matters either. Maybe they should have joined the Air Force.

It didn't bother me, but on the other hand, I have lived several lifetimes in a priestly role in the old ways, and as far as I know, I didn't go to hell. So I figure pagan ≠ dammed.
I say everyone works there own magik, regardless of what they call it.

There are whackos in every faith and every service. Unfortunately, most people have the wrong idea about Wicca and Paganism, and many are drawn to it for all the wrong reasons. Wicca, by its nature also seems to draw the weirdos. Believe me, elders in the Craft also try to get these "Playgans" to cool it as well.

That said, the height of immaturity I have witnessed is still among "well-meaning Christians". Especially when the invite themselves to Open Circle. There have been times it would get so bad we would have to call the MPs.

I would invite you to join the community. Your insight and experience would be helpful.

I put in an eChit to join the community. I think my profile should answer most of the community's questions. If you have any more questions for me, just ask.
